Born and raised in South Derbyshire, Sarah is an interdisciplinary performer, maker and teacher. With a strong base in dance and movement, her work also explores theatre, clown, puppetry and music. She is artistic director of butlerdancetheatre, created in 2015, with the aim of using a collaborative approach to devising and making poignant and funny work with wide appeal.
Over the last ten years Sarah has built up many wonderful contacts in dance and theatre and has several ongoing working relationships including; dancer and puppeteer in GIFT for Beautiful Creatures, rehearsal director for Spiltmilk Dance and performer for Bakehouse Factory and The Gramophones.
Currently she is an Associate lecturer in Dance and Theatre at déda and visiting lecturer in Dance Theatre at Bedford University. Sarah holds a Masters degree in Dance Making and Performance from Coventry University and BA (hons) Performing Arts: Dance from Middlesex University.
Sarah’s practice involves release based movement combined with elements of yoga and acrobatics. Class will focus on breath, folding and unfolding, moving fluidly in and out of the floor and travelling through the space.
