Thursday morning Pro Class is lead by local dance artist Claire Lambert!
ABOUT THE CLASS
Claire will lead a technical class that focuses on finding strength in the core and articulation in the legs using movements influenced by yoga and Cunningham. By keeping exercises simple and allowing for improvisation within the structure, the focus of class will be on dynamic quality of movement and on the clarity of individual choices. Culminating with a longer movement phrase to build stamina, explore rhythmic changes and purely to enjoy moving as a cohort.
Having performed in Olivier award winning Angels in America at the National Theatre, Claire continues to enjoy devising dynamic, narrative and socially relevant work. Alongside freelance projects, Claire is pursuing professional development including Vertical Dance training with Kate Lawrence, masterclasses with Kerry Nicholls Dance and seeking opportunities to develop vocal range and practice. Longer term working relationships include expanding company repertoire with award-winning Highly Sprung Performance, touring with Casson & Friends and contributing towards the development and sustainability of Birmingham Dance Network. Personal highlights of career to date include collaborating with Steven Hoggett, Finn Caldwell, Marianne Elliott, singing internationally with Town Hall Gospel Choir, Birmingham Opera Company, national touring of Urban Astronaut, CPD training with RoguePlay Theatre, Wired Aerial and performing in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Claire enjoys a collaborative process in which imagination, playfulness and invention thrive and is attracted to creating work by a strong commitment to drawing audiences into a compelling and meaningful experience. Claire is thrilled to continue her professional journey as part of ChoreoMatch company 2018 and is looking forward to making the most of IDFB 2018.”
