BRUMproclass with Robert Hemming

Tuesday Morning ProClass with Robert Hemming

Robert’s practice explores physical efficiency in improvisation and set material. His approach to movement draws from his extensive training in a wide variety of contemporary, classical and folkloristic dance traditions and techniques. You can expect a dynamic and challenging class that moves through the floor, through the body and through space. For this session, Robert will lead a physical investigation followed by set exercises, which will build your stamina, efficiency and motive of motion.

Robert Hemming is a Dutch-British dance artist based in the West Midlands. He trained at ArtEZ University of the Arts in The Netherlands and consecutively at London Contemporary Dance School in the UK. Robert has performed works by artists such as Nils Christe, Adriaan Luteijn, Project Sally, Richard Alston, Hofesh Shechter, Sarah Dowling, Renaud Wiser and Hannes Langolf. As a teacher, his experience includes organisations such as DanceXchange, RDC Youth, The Place and ArtEZ University of the Arts. Currently, Robert is active as a freelance dance artist through teaching, performing and creating work in the UK and mainland Europe for various artists, companies and institutions.
