BRUMproclass with Sioda Adams

Tuesday Morning ProClass with Sioda Adams!

The session will begin with a dynamic warm-up to include flying and falling practices, moving in and out of the floor safely, catching and weight bearing techniques, to learn and practice new skills before being guided into a group contact improvisation. The class will finish with some deep yoga stretches to help the body recover.

Sioda’s formal training in Contemporary Dance was from NSCD. Since graduating in 2002 she has worked as a dancer/physical theatre performer, director, teacher, actress and sometimes singer and musician too. Her main artistic influences being from working with Motionhouse Dance Theatre as a full time company member, Parlor Dance, CScape Dance Co. in Cornwall with directors from Kneehigh Theatre and further training at The Actors Space in Barcelona, as well as a childhood full of music, dance and folk culture. Sioda’s main movement skills are in contact improv, flying, falling and catching and partnering work which influences her choreographic style. Sioda has always been passionate about creative expression and believes that contact improv allows a certain freedom of expression that you don’t always feel through other movement practices. She loves to share and practice skills that help people to find their own individuality as well as the opportunity to connect with others. She is a performer, maker and teacher who cares greatly about human connections and using her art, love, compassion and humour to make a positive influence on the world.
