Welcoming Megan Caine (our swanky new administrator) to the Birmingham Dance Network team!

You might remember that Birmingham Dance Network were looking for an administrator to join our team last month, we were overwhelmed with wonderful applicants and a positive wave of interest – Thank You everyone for your time and support.  We are thrilled to announce that we have filled our administrator role.. *drum roll*

Introducing… Megan Caine!

Megan Caine is a professional administrator who dances for pleasure. She has some 25 years’ administration experience with organisations big and small, in the UK and abroad. Specialising in the development and day-to-day running of membership groups and networks, she has carried out assignments for anthropology associations, women’s organisations, the House of Commons and the Vegan Society among others, and has successfully managed a challenging range of international conferences and workshops.

Megan is a trained linguist and language teacher, and works freelance as a copy-editor and translator, counting among her clients dance and film academics. Her background in Spanish has taken her to mainland Spain, the Canaries and Central and South America – where her love affair with Latin rhythms began – but in 2015 she was lured back to Birmingham and its burgeoning arts scene.

In early 2018, Megan participated in a project co-ordinated by Birmingham Royal Ballet and the city’s LGBT centre, which further fuelled her passion for dance and led to her involvement with Birmingham Dance Network.

Megan came along to our last BDN Social, some of you may have been lucky enough to meet her already but for those who haven’t, we’ve asked her a few questions so that you can get to know our wonderful new team member, enjoy!
