Capoeira is a truly holistic art form, of African roots born in Brazil, where the main objective is to improvise and develop creative solutions and expressions through movement and music.Mascote’s workshops and regular residencies are focused or clean structured content, which is designed to be able to work as a base for semi-structured improvisation, choreography and of course play. Capoeira is a body game, a body language and acultural expression of liberation.

Mascote believes consistency, not intensity, is key . He has had over 20 years of Capoeiraexperience, and for over 15 years has been working professionally, teaching and performing Capoeira the music, movement and martial art. He has directed, conducted workshops, and performed in numerous international festivals and arts events worldwide,to great acclaim, and is internationally recognised, having taught and performed all over Europe, and as far away as South Africa, India, South Korea, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and, of course, Brazil.
