PAID Advocacy Training

Freelance dance professionals!

This is an opportunity for continuing professional development and you will be PAID!

BDN and One Dance UK are working together to deliver two Dance Advocacy Workshops on Tuesday 11 May and Wednesday 12 May from 1pm to 4pm (you only need to attend one afternoon).  You will be paid £75 to attend the workshop on Zoom.  The workshop will cover:

  • What does advocacy mean? How and why do we do it?

  • How and why One Dance UK advocate for dance and how you can help support their advocacy work

  • How you, as dance professionals, can effectively advocate for the issues that are important to you

All you need to do is put your name down on this form: https://forms.gle/Nt4jAzfj5VPQjuyY8

and include a few sentences on why you want to do this training.  It is first come, first served, which means it is open for all so get in quick!  We are committed to being inclusive and representative of our community.  We will be prioritising West Midlands-based dance professionals but invite professionals from other regions of the UK.  If you are salaried and want to attend for free, please indicate this on the form and we will welcome your request too.

We have a small budget available for childcare and access costs so do please email megan@birminghamdancenetwork.co.uk to discuss your needs.

There are 30 spaces (paid) available in total. Apply now!

Deadline: Midday 29th April 2021.

Thanks to Arts Council England, Coventry University and One Dance UK for supporting this training.
